Close Quarters Combat Academy is the new martial arts instruction system from Larry Marin.

Larry is an accomplished martial arts practitioner and instructor. A black belt in various arts with decades of experience and finally prompted him to bring a new kind of combat school to the Chicago area.

Close Quarters Combat focuses on training for self defense, personal security, increased self awareness and confidence.

This is first and foremost a self defense club, not a traditional martial arts school. The school uniform will consist of workout pant, a school t shirt and a light martial arts or wrestling shoe. The reason for this is to keep the training as realistic as possible; no one walks around day to day in bare feet and pajamas so why would you train in this fashion.

Secondly, we try to stay away from any typical structure such as martial arts forms, regular testing (which can get costly at traditional schools) or scheduled belt promotion. Students progress at their own pace without pressure of competing with the person next to them.
